Ninja Kamui Anime Gets 2 More Seasons
Adult Swim officially announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on Thursday that the Ninja Kamui anime will have two more seasons from Sola Entertainment. The first of the two additional seasons, Ninja Kamui Season Two: Red Vendetta, "will follow Higan as he uncovers a new conspiracy of cataclysmic proportions." Sola Entertainment briefly posted a press release for the Ninja Kamui game last June that said it was producing a second season for the Ninja Kamui anime. The press release was later removed, and Jason DeMarco, Senior Vice-President, Head of Anime and Action Series at Adult Swim, said that a second season had "not been announced" at the time. Sola Entertainment CEO Joseph Chou then told ANN that the game's PR staff inserted the quote about Sola Entertainment "working on" a second season. Adult Swim describes the anime: Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, The God of High School) directed the futuristic action/adventure anime's first season. Takeshi Okazaki (Afro Samurai, Star Wars: Visions, Batman Ninja) designed the characters. Park's new studio E&H production and Sola Entertainment (Lord of The Rings: War of The Rohirrim, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Ultraman) produced the season.Adult Swim premiered the first anime season with both its English dub and Japanese audio with English subtitles during the Toonami programming block on February 10, 2024. The anime began streaming a day later on Max (which is reverting to its previous name HBO Max this year).Ninja Kamui was the most viewed anime ever on both Adult Swim and HBO Max. It won “Best Original Anime” at the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.Rainmaker Productions and Sola Entertainment released the Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins game based on the Ninja Kamui anime digitally on PC via Steam in November.Update: The statement that Ninja Kamui was the most viewed anime ever on both Adult Swim and HBO Max originated in Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins' June 2024 press release, the same release that briefly listed a second anime season before being removed.
