Yamamoto and Kobayashi met through their university’s Nihonshu Club and have been dating for five years.

Now 24, the two of them work together at Kobayashi’s family brewery, Kobayashi Shuzou.


Yamamoto is busy every day as the mentor for a new employee, Tokitori, while Kobayashi is working with his childhood friend Miyazaki to prepare for the opening of “Kuramoto Ryouri Kobayashi,” a restaurant serving authentic local sake and cuisine.


Even though their busy schedules mean they see each other less often at the brewery, they spend their days fulfilled both at work and in their private lives, holding on to the promise that once their ideal sake, “Blue Gradation,” is completed, they will move in together.
