DESCRIPTION

A boy named Pastry is set to become the next lord of the destitute dominion of Morteln. He's known for having remarkable talent for his age... and it just so happens he was a genius pastry chef with a promising future in his previous life! He still retains his determination to make sweets that will make everyone smile, even after reincarnating as Pastry. But many challenges stand before him, including bandits attacking his domain, malicious and eccentric nobles, an unfortunate financial situation, and land so barren that even water is scarce. The only weapons he has to fight them with are his own ingenuity and love for making sweets. Can Pastry succeed in bringing happiness to the land?!

Sweet Reincarnation

Main Plot

Alright, so let’s talk about Sweet Reincarnation, the anime where some pastry chef dies from his just desserts and gets reborn as a kid in a medieval world. And what’s his big dream? To make desserts. Yeah, that’s it. No epic adventures, no saving the world, just baking pastries. What the hell? Who asked for this?
The whole premise is really dumb. why is this dude, who had a second chance at life, so fixated on pies and cakes? The world he’s in has bandits, knights, wars, and all that medieval crap, but nah, let’s just figure out how to make sugar and bake some cookies. The guy’s got insane knowledge, but instead of doing something useful, he’s obsessed with sweets and pastries, The main characters first name is literally fucking pastry how fucking obvious could you get

Pacing, why even try?

The pacing is a damn mess. One episode he’s in the kitchen trying to make a cake, and the next he’s fighting bandits or solving village problems. Pick a damn plotl ine. Is this a cooking show or a medieval drama? It tries to do both, and it fails at both. I couldn’t care less about his half-assed fights or his boring-ass desserts.

And the characters? Bland as hell. Mille, the reincarnated pastry main-character, is somehow overpowered when it comes to desserts but useless at everything else. His dad just kinda stands there like a proud idiot while pastry takes over the whole village. The side characters? Forgettable. The big guy who eats everything? Sure, he’s funny for five minutes, but after that, it’s like, "Okay, we get it, you like food."

The animation is sub-par at best, but nothing to write home about half the time all the side characters or backround have no fucking faces. The food scenes are only okay but not enough to make you care about them—they really put all their effort into trying to make the desserts look half way decent. Too bad I don’t give a damn about the desserts when the story’s so fucking ass

The worst part is how seriously this show takes itself. Like, bro, it’s an anime about a kid making sweets in a medieval world. Why is it acting like we’re supposed to care about sugar production or how the kid’s desserts are gonna “save the village”? It’s so dumb and excruciating to watch it’s almost insulting.

Sweet Reincarnation is frustrating as hell. The concept is stupid, the story is all over the place, and the characters are boring as shit, you'd get more entertainment from watching the paint dry. If you’re into baking or just want to see sub-par looking food, maybe it’s worth a hate-watch. Otherwise, skip this mess.

This anime deserves to go back into the flour bag, god I fucking hate this show
