DESCRIPTION
Due to a misuse of a word joke on live TV broadcast, girl group otaku, 'Jin-Kyung' ended up becoming doxxed and labeled as a "child predator", and ended up getting Social Anxiety Disorder. 3 years later, because of his past incident from the 3D world, his love for only the 2D world manifested, and ended up becoming a "Shut-In Otaku"! Then one day, as Jin-Kyung was no-lifing as usual, he was summoned to ‘Another World’, and came face-to-face with a bright-eyed, hopeful Summoner… Interesting enough, in the world that Jin-Kyung was summoned to, his Social Anxiety Disorder disappeared, and he was also able to wield immense power, and became the strongest summoned being there ever was!! The story of a former girl group otaku turned powerful 2D otaku, and the story of a weak and feeble Summoner commences now!!!

75/100An absolute eyecandy but still suffers from a sickness that plagues manhwasContinue on AniListThis caught my eye because someone has been sharing landscape photos in Facebook and captioning that it came from a manhwa. With nothing else to do, I gave it a try.
Wow... Never have I imagined that I'd be immersed in a manhwa world just by looking at the art. There's tower of god that has an outstanding approach to worldbuilding but you have to read 500 chapters of this thicc boi to get a gist on what I'm talking about. This manhwa (100 chapters as I'm writing this review) managed to condense its lore and convert it into paintings.
The character designs and landscape paintings in this manhwa are a definite eyecandy and they're consistent throughout. Oversexualization of women is something this manhwa tends to do most often, but this is not really new in the manhwa world. I can definitely see something like Redice Studio backing up the artist for quality assurance. But if this artist is self employed, then hats off to him/her.
Honestly, I've never seen this sheer production quality in a serialized work before. If we can set the benchmark to any manga and manhwa in terms of art quality, Her Summon deserves to be that benchmark.
The art is a stellar 10/10. But the plot is another story(get it?)
A problem I've had with a lot of manhwa is that their stories is, to say the least, very lackluster even in story making standards. I don't see any reason why skipping the proofreading stage would make a manhwa better. Mangas do this as well, but it's the charm that prevails. Even trashy mangas like Eromanga Sensei manages to make its own mark. The majority of manhwas offer a bland flavored story and sometimes spicy(pornwha gang where you at?).
Not to say that they repulse me in any way. I just think that the authors don't give a shit to the story. They're inoffensive, borderline mediocre and I won't comment any further on their motives. It's just that if you're intending to sell on readers on a literary work and not just an art exhibition, you need to at least pay attention to the story.
The plot in Her Summon is linear and not unique, to say the least. I know readers aren't looking for the story in a manhwa, but I do sometimes. I loved solo leveling for its straightforward plot but in the case of Her Summon, the art is a wasted potential when coupled with a mediocre plot.
We have an isekai protagonist who is a frail hikikomori in the real world but in the other world, he transforms into a charismatic and overpowered chad(slime gang where you at?). One disparate gimmick this premise has is that he's really not dead as he can transport himself between both worlds. We follow his story on eradicating everything evil, as most overpowered isekai protagonist is, as the script says, obligated to do.
Reading her summon is a double edged sword of an experience to me. We have an orgasm inducing art but a linear and average storytelling. Then there's the characters. Not to say they're all badly written- there's just this bias in character development that I can consider to some degree as a pet peeve.
The character development within the protagonist(Lord Yutuba) is likened to Rudeus in Mushoku Tensei. Even if you have this overwhelming KD ratio in this fantasy world, you could never escape the troubles of the real world. As he is first introduced, his obsession as an idol fan has wrongfully led him to a scandal in which he was brought at the lowest he has ever been.
I appreciate it if an isekai manhwa isn't a complete amnesiac and doesn't forget the real world.
In the later chapters, we get to see that he still hasn't moved on from that event and would occasionally get vietnam war flashbacks. Despite him finding a new purpose in life, he cannot escape the reality he has spent the majority of his life being stepped on. It honestly makes me feel sorry for him and for the protagonist to at least achieve something in both worlds, I wholeheartedly support him for that.
I'm quite surprised that he's a more well rounded than I thought.
The side characters, on the other hand, are forgettable. We have the main heroine who is in that position where she is warranted to have sufficient focus particularly on her character, but she isn't given that much push, which is a bit sad. She's just replaceable character. I'd prefer the sexy sexy girl from the beginning. Even though she's an insufferable bitch at times, I'd bet we'll get at least something from her and MC.
Anyone else are disposable and don't expect them to come back or if they do, don't expect much screentime from them.
I figured that this manhwa is still halfway finished, so giving this a landlocked score ain't fair. I'll come back again if this is finished.
If you ignore my rants and nitpicks above, you'll see that this manhwa is pretty decent. I wished the world in tower of god was this beautiful. The problems that I noticed didn't really hinder my enjoyment that much. Despite its flaws, I had fun reading it and you should read it as well, be it your 1st manhwa or 110th manhwa.

70/100Beautiful Art and a decent execution of the Isekai Genre.Continue on AniListBasic Info
그녀의 소환수 (Geunyeoui Sohwansu) also know in English as "Her Summon" is a Manhwa made by Jin-Jun Park and is about a Guy called Jin Kyung. The Manhwa has a very eye pleasing look to it, The design of the characters and Monsters/Demons are executed very nicely, but we'll get to that point further on in the review. (I'm 80 Chapters into the Story currently as of writing this review.)
(I'll try to not spoil any of the major story plots in this review, but be aware that I have to bring some insight about bits of the Story for you to understand this Review.)
Summary
The Story is about a young guy named Jin Kyung who still lives with his parents (most likely in his twenties.) who called himself a Pedophile on live-air by mistake, because of which he closes himself in his room and ends up getting Social Anxiety Disorder. Jin Kyung is a ordinary guy, he isn't smart nor is he strong, but by chance he gets Summoned by a young summoner girl called Ai to her world, where she asks him to fight a giant monster-moth, luckily, in his world he was ranting to his figurine about how he'll protect her from a mosquito, and because of that he had also brought bug spray with him, when he tries to defeat the moth-monster with the Spray, it actually works and that's how Jin Kyung learns that he is very powerful in the parallel world that he was summoned to.This is just the beginning of the Story of course, but the story from now on goes similarly to what I've described to you before, (Jin Kyung gets summoned by Ai, Jin says something embarrassing, defeats the Monster (most of the times with ease) and later on different shenanigans happen.)
In short, the story in neither something extraordinary, but neither is it bad. It's executed decently enough for it to be a solid 6/10 in my eyes.
The Art
The Art is by far the best part of this Manhwa, the backgrounds, monster designs and even the characters are basically eye-candy. I would even go as far to say that this is one of the best looking Manhwas/Mangas/Mahuas that I've read so far!One of the subtle touches that I really like is how the "Normal" World of Jin is portrayed. At first before the incident it looks normal, but after he gets diagnosed with Social Anxiety Disorder and becomes a shut-in the world suddenly appears White & Black. Life for Jin basically loses all meaning, on the other hand, the world which to he gets summoned to is bright right from the beginning, because there he can be someone that matters, and actually isn't powerless. I really like how the creators portrayed this and how this begins to change after Jin slowly starts to accept himself.
Anyways, let's get to the best part of the Art, the backgrounds and the Monster/Demon design.
(Warning the following pictures can be slight spoilers for the Manhwa, beware!)This following picture is from chapter 1 :
As we can see, the design is very interesting, the first enemy, is a colossus monster-moth towering over the clouds, and that's pretty much the first thing Jin sees in this new world.
Next picture shows off how much effort actually went into every page of this manhwa and how easily it is to see how talented the creator is.
The Art in this Manhwa is truly beautiful, and it gets a 10/10 from me.

Closing Words
If you're searching for a Manhwa with a decent enough story, and some really nice art, then Her Summon will be right up your alley, just remember that the story has the obvious problems that also other Manhwas have (Like some very cringey writing from time to time, a mandatory "love" story etc.) it has some cliches, but overall it's still a enjoyable story about a Guy who gets summoned into a parallel world to help his Summoner out, and also begins to open up to people because of his adventures in this new world.
I give Her Summon an Overall Score of 70/100.
